Hello, Shalom and Marhaba!
The University of Denver and ISIME
The development of ISIME coincides with the emergence of the University of Denver as a world-ranked university, nearing completion of a $150 million capital campaign. This recent growth is due in large measure to the efforts of Chancellor Emeritus Dan Ritchie, a former CEO of Westinghouse Broadcasting Systems, who is strongly committed to the Institute.
Denver and the Rocky Mountain Region
There is no better place than Denver to stimulate important intellectual and political discussions, as Golda Meir reminisced about her teenage years spent living in Denver. With the construction of the world's most modern international airport, with its booming economy, and with its emergence as the leading national center for telecommunications, it is no surprise that Denver was selected to host the 1997 G-8 summit. Denver and the Rocky Mountain region provide a very appealing environment for the launching of a world-class Institute for the Study of Israel in the Middle East.

ISIME is hosted at the Josef Korbel School of International Studies (GSIS). GSIS, led by Dean Tom Farer, is considered one of the most prestigious schools of International Studies in the world. Graduates of GSIS, such as Secretary of State Dr. Condoleezza Rice, occupy leading positions in academia as well as the private and public sectors. ISIME complements the activities of GSIS at the University of Denver. GSIS brings together scholars in international law, economics, political science, anthropology, sociology, and history. While focusing on a specific region, the Institute draws on GSIS's broader expertise in the field of international affairs. ISIME also benefits from the dynamic directorship of Professor Shaul Gabbay and the energetic guidance of Dean Tom Farer; both are world-renowned scholars in their respective fields of expertise. Professor Gabbay is an internationally accomplished scholar and an expert in the field of social networks, with particular focus on networks in the Middle East. Professor Tom Farer is a renowned international legal scholar, consultant, and leader in the fields of human rights and negotiation.
