David Gillespie, Middle East Research

A Colorado native, David Gillespie holds a BA in political science from the University of Northern Colorado and an MA in international studies from the Josef Korbel School of International Studies at the University of Denver.  His focus is in international politics, with concentrations in human rights and international development.  Recently, he has served as a research assistant to Micheline Ishay, the director of the Human Rights Program at GSIS, and aided in the development of her 2007 book The Human Rights Reader: Major Political Essays, Speeches, and Documents from Ancient Times to the Present.  He has also served as a researcher and copyeditor for Human Rights and Human Welfare, an online academic journal. New at ISIME this year, David’s studies concern the Muslim world and immigration to the US
