Director of the ISIME Israel Office
Shaul Amir

Shaul Amir

Shaul Amir opened the ISIME Israel Office in Tel Aviv in July, 2007.  He immediately began work on the coordination of the an Israeli-Iraqi student video conference between Iraqi high school students visiting ISIME at the University of Denver and Israeli students via satellite which made history for ISIME August 9, 2007.  Thanks to the efforts of Amir, the group of Israelis representing all faiths and cultures have begun a peace project within Israel.

Also directly under his leadership is the planning of an International Conference for University leaders throughout the Middle East to discuss “The Role of Education in Bringing Peace to the Middle East.”

The Denver Community knows Shaul Amir well, as he served as the Director of the Israel National and Overseas Office for the Allied Jewish Federation of Colorado.  His leadership skills, extensive knowledge about Israel and bridge-building abilities will be utilized by ISIME to pursue peace for Israel and its neighbors.  “We are fortunate,” says Shaul Gabbay. “I don’t know anyone better qualified to open an office in Israel for us.  Shaul Amir will serve as our right arm in Israel.  His up-to-the-minute analysis will keep us abreast of what is happening on the ground.  That kind of connection is invaluable for us.”
